What’s Coming

What’s already happened

A woman with long curly red hair is wearing a white flower crown. She is under the night sky and there are stars around her head. Her chest is open as if she is having heart surgery and medical implements hold her skin open revealing her heart. Two arteries travel from the heart, through her hair and finish by her eyes, each dripping blood as if they are tears. The blood is running down her face. In front of her naked form are fig leaves which cover her breasts. She is the moth, attracted to false light.

On World Narcissistic Awareness Day we explore narcissism through the lens of lived experience of domestic abuse – the gaslighting, the control, the way in which responsibility is switched from the abuser to the victim through gritted teeth.

We also explore the subject of recovery. The recovery process is personal to the individual and is never linear. Red, an artist in Cornwall, will explain her recovery process through art.

Understanding body language is key to recognising those red flags. With the help of body language expert, Darren Stanton, our senses may be alerted to the warning signs of an unhealthy interpersonal relationship.

This event also hosts the launch of the1in3club, an information/education awareness vehicle focusing on all matters pertaining to domestic abuse with an aim to showing women that they are not alone in their experiences and with an ultimate aim to preserve life through awareness.

The Garrison Gallery at Maker Heights was the venue for the debut of the collection “We learnt to Fly”. The gallery is a vibrant venue for music and art events, and a cocktail bar to boot. Its an amazing space and I am very grateful for this show that launched my collection.
